Cuiabá is the capital of the state of Mato Grosso and is located in the Doorway to the Amazon, at the entry to Pantanal (Swamplands). One of the city’s with the hottest climates in the country, it is also a major urban and economic center, receiving a growing number of people travelling for both, tourism and business reasons.
The main overland accesses to the city are federal highways BR-070, BR-364 and BR-163. The Cuiabá Bus Station receives buses from many companies. However, if you are flying in, arrival is at the Cuiabá International Airport, 80 km from downtown.
